Folder contains a letter in which Judge Storer goes into the question of abortion, describing two Maine statutes in detail. He notes that an abortion procured by a pregnant woman or by others is a crime to be punished by "imprisonment in the State prison, not more than three years, or by fine, not exceeding one hundred dollars and imprisonment in the County jail not more than one year..." He also cites a revised statute which increases the imprisonment to five years. The only exceptions are those cases in which the mother's life is endangered.
